This WB is up for auction in a few days:

https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/FL18 ... ody/646850

Car has some question marks. VIN says WDB126044 (Gen I 500SEC), but is listed in the auction write up as an 86 Gen II 560. Per EPC, the car was originally 199 Blue Black Metallic and has been color changed to white. Interior is correct Black, but has many white accents. Rear trunk spoiler is wrong and not AMG. Car is a Japan import. No AMG stickers to be seen. Car will do well to bring $125k or so.

The other WB at Amelia Island through Hollywood Wheels auction that was a no sale at $165,000, IIRC. More legit car than the above white car, another Japan import. Car had $30k of love from RennTech just before the auction. Same car that was pulled from the Mecum Kissimmee auction in January.

I'm not usually a fan of the milked-out look, but I kinda like this one. Agreed that maybe something's a li'l off - but quad cam could bend even the well initiated into submission...

Will be interesting to see how much this one brings.

The black one's just sooooo sweeet and hunkered-down-low sluuuuung!!!

This car was on eBay for the longest time being sold by Mendels Garage. They were also selling a widebody shell at one point (missing the 32v engine, front bumper, etc.).

I’m not sure this one will or should command the $100-150k asking price; color change, ill fitting/panel gap on the front fenders, a weird assortment of parts for the year; trunk spoiler, Recaro CSE’s, steering wheel, etc.

I believe the car sold for $100k + 10% = $110k. About right for a car with some issues noted above, but with the quad cam 32v AMG engine. Add provenance, documentation from AMG, and known history and add $100k.

My quad cam widebody project is slowly progressing. Still 1.5-2 years away from being done. Paint/body work in process, engine in process, buying tons of parts. No shortcuts with this car. It will be a full restoration to the highest level.

quad cam? Thought the car came as a sohc 5.4, unless you're upgrading? Look forward to updates!
