Great prices for some good looking examples.

Does anyone know if the Canadian delivered 500 and 560 cars had the same engines as US delivered w126 500 and 560 models?
Or does the Canadian delivered models have the same horsepower as grey market euros? I know the grey market Japanese models imported to Canada are full grey market euros but I am looking at a Canadian 500 sel delivered new to Canada and was hoping it was the same as a euro model.

The Canadian examples seem to be a mixed bag, NA, euro and JP

I think 89 and up was NA.

Thanks guys and sorry to hijack. The reason I ask is that there is a 1985 gen I 500SEL that was originally delivered to Canada, then later imported to the US that I would like to get the engine from but don't want to end up with a US spec'ed engine for my euro. The vin has no "c" in it leading me to believe it could have a true euro engine but don't want to jump to that conclussion without knowing for sure that Canadian w126 500 engines are not the same as US delivered engines.

Maybe not Canadian delivery at all? I am told it is a true euro motor but the data card show "Canada Special Edition" next to the paint code line.

Cars originally sold in Canada are US-spec, but should have metric speedometers. I think, although can't confirm, they also have something with the lights that are different than US (requiring them to be on) but can't think how they could achieve that.

Many Euro and Japan imports in Canada as they are more lax in import rules and regulation.

I don't know for sure but 85 would be like a gray import to the US so it should be euro?

Don't go to too much trouble as I will be going down to take a look at it near the end of the week. My plan is to take the engine from the above SEL vin # car if it is a euro engine and temporarily putting it in my SEC while I refresh my original engine, then swap the refreshed original back in to my SEC. This would allow me plenty of time to go through the rebuilding process of the original and still use my SEC as a daily driver.

Just called them. It is a euro car he sad base on the vin# not showing up in his system.

Thank you for making that call. I feel better going down to look at it knowing it is a euro.
