Cool car! Reminds me of AMGTony's 83 SEC. I never cared much for white on an SEC until I had seen his with the full kit and road wheels. Looks very sleek all decked out.

I think it's gorgeous.
Always liked a colour-coded white or beige SEC

Went up yesterday to pick up car. Car is a True grey market Euro import, with bar and import sticker on door jam. it is a 1983 500SEC.
Car has staggered ATS pentas 16x8, 16x9, fire ext on front seat, amg steering wheel, White springs, AMG shocks, and full body kit.
Did the reg in stockton AAA and proceeded to head back. Car runs like a champ, never got of 80degrees, trans shifts as it should, no funny noises from engine. flawless 325 mile drive back at 80mph most of the way on the 99 freeway. body has no dents or dings, paint will buff out glossy with a good rub out.
pic's to come.

Wait a minute - 16x9 and 16x10's?? Gonna need pics of the 16x10's or we'll have to call BS on that one!
But in all seriousness, great pick-up for a great looking car. I'm not a fan of blue interiors on a W126 SEC (use to have exactly your colors - white/blue). I am sure this car will be well taken care of and restored. Congrats, Kurt.

Hello Kurt,
Congrats on the purchase.
I can't image that they are 9/10 as that is specific to a wide body application
but rather they more likely the proper application for a standard body is 8/9. Check the
outside lug hub area for the wheel specs.

I did check at the hub lug area and it is hard to read due to the white paint on the wheels. but the fronts are wider than my Areo I's which are eights and the rears have an extra inch more than the fronts.
Also on the car the rear and front wheel well inner lip has been totally removed. the wheel wells are completely flat inside not rolled as most normal AMG are. When we meet up you can do the check for yourself bring your tape measure. the rear tires I had installed the 225/50/16's had to be super streached to fit the rear rims. and even that with the fully shaved wheel wells may have a slight rub issue.

I do think you guys are right. After looking closely at 16x9 and 16x10 penta wheel pictures I think you are right mine are 16x8 and 16x9's.

Both rolling and cutting would be appropriate methods. Below are reference of 9/10's.

White and black? Wow, that is a rare combo - had to be special ordered. Only the 2nd SEC that I have ever heard of like that. Once again, super buy on a great looking car. The wheels are almost worth $3k.

thanks, the car runs great, but needs some tie rod ends and sway bar bushings.
After really looking at the wheel pictures mine are 16x8 and 16x9.
