A guy from Boston bought the car. I was looking at the car for about 2 hours just before the auction ended. The sales guy was chatting with the Boston guy while I was there. I guess he decided he didn't want to get scooped and hit the BIN button - the sales guy told him "a guy from Atlanta is here right now looking at the car" and the Boston Buyer thought it was Jono. The car was well bought at $52k, even considering the sales tax that will be added (makes it about $55k). I was seriously considering buying it with my brother to flip - I think this car would do well at an RM/Gooding auction at Pebble or Amelia. The Buyer is legit and I would be surprised if the deal has not been consumated. I can confirm Jono was the bidder at $41k - he tried to steal the car.
Jono talked with the Boston buyer and the car will most likely make it's way to Jono's shop for a mechanical once-over. The left rear sheet metal wrinkle will need to be addressed by a really good paint/body shop. The driver seat is really soft feeling and needs to be rebuilt. I gave Jono my roll of 76 digital pics of the car.
If this sedan makes its way to Atlanta, Jono will have 5 of the original 13 (if that # is accurate) Hammers in his shop - Jono's Hammer sedan and wagon and two customer Hammers (a silver/black one with the 6.0 getting serviced and the Signal Red one that has been much talked about that recently traded hands at $50k with some needs).
