Re: Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC AMG (1985)
My Widebody is a 1985 as well and I notice that the rear flare panels differ in that mine have the inlet fuel filler door and this car does not.
The front fenders and bumper spoiler appear to be the same as mine as far as I can tell from the photo. Were there two different kits??

Early wb kits differed from later wb kits but rear quarter placement was installer dependent.

I contacted the Seller, Tony Erker, about the car and asked for a lot of items (more pics, copy of the AMG docs, VIN, condition of the paint, etc..). His reply is sparse with no additional detail. I just don't get people sometimes - I express interest in a car and request a good bit of Due Diligence items and all I get is the below:
Hello Allan
I shipped cars to Atlanta in the early 80s
While there was the "one time exemption deal" in the states.
The car has papers and letters from the Affalterbach factory.
It was the factory showcar.
Some work needs to be done: right side camshaft needs to be changed, is noisy.
Dashboard needs replacement. Adjustment of frontbumper. Some failures in the paint.price is 25000 Eur.
Best Regards
