Would love to see a clip of this bad boy on the track leading the way!

I sent the guy an email and left a vm on his cell. Could be a nice WB to own. I know of a nice Gen I engine that would fit...

Did a little bit of digging and could not find anything about this 500sec. The first official pace car/safety car was introduced in 1973, a Porsche 914/6. An official pace car was not seen again until 1993, though there were sightings of a Lambo on the track in Monaco in 1981, 82, 83 per these two links:

Needs some interior work - new dash pad (what is going on around the instrument cluster??), new center console, all wood redone. If this really was a pace car, wouldn't you think AMG would have used the 32v engine instead of a SOHC - especially by 1985? Hint of a false firewall "adjustment" near the battery that may indicate it had a quad cam in it. Still has the Gen I Sebring rear muffler, at least when the pics were taken.
Like Henric, I looked at videos of the 85 Monaco GP - no video of the pace lap. There was a significant wreck mid-race that wasn't worthy of the pace car.
