1983 Mercedes-Benz 500SL. Euro import, with skinny chrome bumpers. Vehicle has AMG gear, to include Ronal Pentas, AMG exhaust, and suspension. Dark navy blue exterior with gray interior. Runs/drives great. Either an excellent weekend/daily car, or a fantastic starting point for a restoration. Clear VA title.

This car is local to me. I know nothing about it other than what's in the CL ad, have no interest in purchasing it and have never spoken with seller so have no affiliation as far as i know.
If a non-local board member has serious interest in it and would like me to take a peek, I'd be happy to oblige - with the caveat that i know nothing about anything unique to the SL model and would need some pre flight guidance as to what to look for in that regard.
In my last incarnation, I would've gone straight out to look at this car with cash in hand, but I'm still payin' interest on all the wine, women & song i ran through, so even if it's a 4 valve, 5 speed cream of Jeannie, I'm not a player

CL ad gone. Anyone ever get pics or take a look at this car? Sounds interesting, and damn, I was in town that week before this was posted, staying in a hotel in falls church, but it was no weather for driving.

The AMG exhaust sounds like it would be very intriguing.

I should get some pictures for comparison, but so the lips look a little smaller, like Penta brand instead of ATS?

Nope. Those wheels are the real deal AMG. Sorry. I didn't see the hundreds of detailed pics in the ebay ad the first time. Looks like it was a great purchase for someone between $11-12k. Congrats to the buyer!
