Fantastic ad, but why no mention of mileage or photos of dash? No AMG exhaust headers/cams?
This is the SL I would buy to complement my SEC, IF it had a CA BAR sticker from prior-CA ownership, but that is a deal-breaker, unfortunately for my part.

What a great euro AMG SL.
I was also curious about the mileage. Like bondavi said, tough to even think of crossing our states line with it without setting aside 4 or 5 thousand to jump through the hoops with.

Ah, yes I remember the thread now. Great its a California car, hopefully no one peeled the BAR sticker.48hp wrote:bw thread on this car, once titled in CA. bondavi, send your 400E 6L south, ty.
Disappointing he stated "cash in person, will not ship", but I think anything's negotiable.
LOL on the 400E 6L - that is probably warming up to be the favorite of the bunch. The 560SEC euro is out of storage at the moment and receiving a refreshing before putting it up for sale eventually as the consolidation to 3-4 MB's goes along.

Drop him a line, I'm sure you can work something out. Nice guy. I tried very hard to peel this from him as I was a half day late when the ad went up by the PO.

Re: 1982 500SL AMG (ULTRA ÜBER RARE) - $10500 (Fort Lauderda
Here's the scoop from Damian:
Sad to see it up for sale but became one of many projects I didn't get time for. I moved last year and the car has been sitting with only get driven about a few times each month mainly because I work out of home. The car looks and drives amazing. It developed a very small leak on the left side from what I can see. The ac was converted and blows cold. The interior needs full restoration, minor rust is beginning to develop. Will need trunk carpet because I took this out. Will need a paint job down the road but isnt bad at all (the sun is really does not like black cars down here). The hardtop rear hook gets stuck so one has to play to release it from the hatch. I did not ever think to part with her but no time to complete her as I had wished.
Again, the car looks amazing but I am very picky with small things. The bad news is as I was packing and moving from my last place last year a few items and boxes went missing with valuables that I cannot replace jewelry, coins and then my lots of cash, passport, the AMG docs in a plastic sleeve, birth certificate..many things. I think it happened when I went to drop off a load at my new place and either someone broke in or one of my friends helping me move left the box out. Either way this box went missing and the thought makes me want to hurl one out. I have the binder with all other import documents in a binder because that week I had brakes, calipers and a full tune up done and was putting the receipts in it. This too would have been missing as well. As far as the mileage goes the speedo stopped working around 2010 at 262 km as everything is in German. I want this to go to someone who will respect her and sees the potential. Most interest is coming from the West Coast believe it or not...I mentioned not to ship her in the ad because of the scams out there and want a cash and carry deal. Don't know what more to say but not feeling good selling her and with hurricane season approaching just don't want to see her get destroyed like my Viper and my Montero did.

There are a few seat adjustments not controlled by any of the factory knobs I might suggest should you venture down the 107 road.Mapearso wrote:I've thought about taking one of these down... but not sure I can comfortably fold myself up into a 107...

Hey, Mark, I'll take the WB off your hands so you have room for the 107. This is a purely altruistic offer on my part in order to help out a friend. I can just foresee a large fabric sail put up over your parking area.....
Ha!

I hope a forum member ends up with this SL... I wish I could get it but an SL is not in the forecast for some time.

And that's how documented AMG cars become just 500sl with a bunch of AMG appearance mods.
Fortunately in the Internet age we can post a lot of the history online and scan a lot of the docs. Disaster recovery. Anyone with documents, Think about it. I snapped pics of the most valuable docs for my SLC Convertible and have them in my thread on Benzworld. It might not be super-organized, but better than nothing. Might as well keep the paper with the title. Speaking if which, does he have the title? I know you can usually get a new one if lost.

Does anyone know if this car is still for sale?
If yes, how can I contact the seller?
Thank you.

Car has sold, apparently to a member in Texas.
