The damage is to the hood and fender? Looks very repairable with some replacement body pieces and paint. Priced very well, provided it wasn't in the water.

I'd be surprised if this isn't already in Fonzi's garage, lol.

I talked to the guy on Friday or Saturday of last week just after it was posted. I told him I couldn't offer him anything more than $1000 without seeing it and he wanted an in-person transaction. I told him about my "problem" and he chuckled. I was driving by his house on Tuesday and scheduled to come see it. The seller said that if the car wasn't still there on Tuesday, then it wasn't God's will. I chuckled (thinking I'm more of someone who thinks we determine our own destiny by the choices we make, like not finding 2-3 hours to go see it over the weekend). Anyway, it sold on Saturday or Sunday before I had a chance to see it, apparently to a Mercedes guy in the Atlantic City or Ocean Ciry area. I called on Tuesday to ask if it was still there that the guy said it was, but the buyer had already taken the title. I wanted to stop by and see what I missed out on. But I called one exit too far south on the turnpike and it would have cost me over an hour or so.

It was a 350slc 4-speed manual, a fairly rare car, but nothing I would be likely to use due to the damage and the fact that the seller told me he had already put sheet metal over the driver floor. It was likely a rust bucket parts car. Headlights, bumpers, and AMG kit could have gotten my money back plus some bits for myself, but it would have been a lot if hassle for me for an AMG appearance kit and maybe a few hundred bucks in the pocket after all the part out.

So I guess he was right. It wasn't God's will for me to get this one. :-)

Admittedly, I'm not the AMG fiend that many here are, and I have an AMG air dam for one of my two SLCs already anyway. I do wish my SLC 5.0 Convertible was a 5-speed Getrag and do like recaro seats. OK, the extra power would be nice too. :)
