Nice. Digging the color combo. Forgive my W123 AMG ignorance, but all I spy here are --
*Silberpfeil steering wheel
*Sideskirts?
*Rials?
What else is this one bringing to the par-tay?

That's the one the Troll MercMaster has, he has been posting stuff about it again on Benzworld.

He tries to sell it about this time every year

I offered him $1000 for it, wheels are gone and interior is trash etc.

I really considered this wagon a while back until I talked to Jon White. I then researched a bit more and found some threads on this car... you'd be surprised to see how much this wagon was talked about online on various sites/forums. What really put me off is what happened between the current owner and the prior owner. There's a story on that on some site/forum but can't find it at the moment. The current owner paid about $2k for it, but did not do anything to the car since he purchased a few years back. At first it was listed at $10k with wheels... now its missing some of the parts it originally had and is listed at $3500.

Needs work, yes, but its a really interesting and nicely spec'd 280TE. The downside is these 280 wagons really don't have much love as the diesel counterparts. So even though they're rare, this is a perfect case where rare does not mean its $. Another thing to think about if you're a California owner is the car seems to be running with the old CA plates and doesn't appear to have been smogged/registered since it left the state. If thats the case, you might want to check on back fee's/smogging issues.

Engine was not confirmed to have or not have AMG cams/work done. Looking at the old pictures when the car was fairly new, it had a front spoiler and side skirts. The Silberpfeil wheel and the side skirts is all that is left and confirmed to be AMG. The 5-speed is a rare and sought-after bit, the leather interior is in poor shape, the aftermarket VDO temp gauge is cool and seem to bring in some $$$ on ebay but other than that... nothing to separate it from a standard 280TE.
