This is a REAL GERMAN AMG, not a US car with AMG wheels and emblems. In 1985 AMG was a separate company that purchased new Mercedes and modified them - engine mods, shocks, springs, brakes, wheels, lowered, ground effects, etc. It was imported through Canada (gray market) and then submitted to US EPA for certification (I have the papers) and sold new by a Cadillac dealer in Libertyville, IL. I bought it 10 years ago with 48,000 miles from a Porsche dealer in Chicago suburbs who had taken it in trade from a collector. It had only been driven 1200 miles in the previous 4 years. I am virtually certain that it is the only one in Tennessee. Here are some details.
The Good:
129,000 miles ; Maintained by Wurster's garage in Franklin; Just passed Williamson County emissions with no alterations; Runs VERY strong; A/C blows cold; original Blaupunkt radio; GT tires; All original except for the floor mats.
The Bad
shocks and springs due for replacement; a little steering box freeplay
The Ugly
Has some surface rust (no perforations) and paint chips in grille and lower air dam.
