I don't think the seller knows what he's talking about or has the wrong pictures. The only thing "AMG" is the badge. That little bit of side skirt seens is not AMG either. Looks like a musty, rusty parts car to me unfortunately.

The M100.985 (6.9) motor was actually 417 cubic inches, not 421 as stated. It was also a SOHC design (as the later M116/M117 were).

This craigslist car is a parts car, unfortunately. To bring this car to a decent spec would require an outlay of minimum $75,000. 6.9s are not cheap beasts. Any sort of AMG-modified 6.9 would be a very rare beast in the US (let alone in Europe). This car would be useful for $1,000 worth of spare parts (mainly rebuildable engine parts) and that is about all. There is no value to it, otherwise. Good-spec 6.9s are getting fairly rare.

When I owned my 6.9 when I lived in Portland, which was a daily driver for me for about 4 years, the rain didn't adversely affect it. :ugeek: (and yes that's my former 300SEL 6.3 in the background of 2 of the photos :)

Cheers,
Gerry
