Highlights

THIS... is a 1985 Mercedes-Benz 500SEC AMG 6.0, finished in black with an Anthracite interior.

This is a left-hand drive, European-market car that's titled in Montana. Reportedly imported in 2022, it's equipped with a metric instrument cluster and the odometer currently displays about 82,200 kilometers, which represents approximately 51,100 miles.
The attached Carfax history report starts in 2023 and lists no accidents since.
AMG modified this car with a 6.0-liter evolution of the factory-fitted 5.0-liter V8, according to the seller. The list of AMG modifications reported by the seller also includes a Sebring-AMG exhaust system, 17-inch OZ Racing wheels, 4-piston front brake calipers, a body kit, wood interior trim, a 4-spoke steering wheel, and a 300-kph speedometer.
Factory equipment includes a limited-slip differential, fog lights, a sunroof, heated and power-adjustable front seats, air conditioning, and cruise control, according to a build sheet shown in the gallery.
Known as the C126 internally, the SEC was launched for the 1983 model year as the W126's coupe counterpart. While buyers in America were initially asked to settle for the 155-horsepower 380 model, Europeans could order the 500 variant that offered a more powerful engine, and the power disparity helped fuel a lucrative gray market. 500 sedans and coupes finally arrived in America for 1984, and both body styles gained an even bigger V8 for 1986. SEC sales ended after the 1991 model year.
AMG models were largely built-to-order until the brand signed a cooperation agreement with Mercedes-Benz in 1993. The so-called "pre-merger" cars were available in numerous configurations; AMG offered different engine displacements, a wide-body kit, plus various suspension and braking systems. Buyers could also personalize the interior, ensuring the odds of finding two identical cars are low.
Power comes from a 6.0-liter V8, rated at about 325 horsepower and 387 lb-ft of torque according to AMG. Part of the M117 family of engines, it spins the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission.
