I really don't know.
She said many people have been in and out of the shop with numerous items stolen including her welder. The wheels were probably scrapped for quick money. Who knows.

this thread is sad - sometimes people can't let go. Who stole the wheels off her?

Looks like some oil on top of the engine, what a shame.

Well, all of the commentary about this car and its worth/value has finally had an impact. The eBay price has been dropped by a whopping $1,400 to $48,600...

The car just seems to be going downhill quickly. It almost appears that it's being stored outside in the elements. I hope that is not true.

Yikes. From gem to in need of a resto.

I wonder if the wheels were taken off for storage? Those might have been extra wheels Kirk had laying around. The auction states that the 10/9's are included.

Some weird stuff is going on here though - the springs, the radio, the huge ///AMG on the windsheild, exhaust, the ///AMG fake door jam plaque, hmmm. Whats going on?

Hopefully Linda with clarify

Pics tell a different story of how gooooood the car used to look......to this.

Interesting that the springs seem to have gone from whiteys...to reds.

Methinks theres some evil MB mechanic up in that neck of the woods having a laugh at the car's expense.

This thing's been for sale for a long time now. I think the market is telling the seller something. Meanwhile, its value continues to DROP over time as it loses key bits and starts to deteriorate. Sad to see it falling into such disrepair.

One would think that at such a rarefied asking price the car would have been cleaned and detailed instead of it looking like something that was dragged out of a barn.....looks like critters are living in it !

Granny pants with a camera out in the field....

...get real, Linda. Rejecting serious offers, fixitating on a value given to you by some dimwit collector and sitting on it for 3 years now?

The car lost the WB wheels, you lost money there. Why increase the price from 42K back up to 50k?

Kirk would want the car to go to a well cared for home, for a FAIR price, not holding it out for unrealistic dollar$ and letting it deteriorate.

Think low 20's. IF there's rust or engine wear, changes the playing field from there.

Duct tape on intake pipes has NO basis of being on a $50k car.

P.S. I spy red AMG springs.

Real shame to see it falling into disarray...

IMHO, as is, based on photos, $20k tops.

I sent a note to the Seller and asked about the chromed WB wheels. If you look, the fronts on the car in the auction are Gen II five spokers and the rear Gen I's.

Thinking about the original WB wheels, about 2 years ago or so I had a fleeting chance at a set of chromed WB wheels in the Bay Area that I sent $$ for only to have them snapped back because the Craigslist Seller figured out they were worth more than he agreed to sell them to me for. I wonder if his wheels were from Kirk's WB.....

Other issues with the car - the original Nakamichi TD-700 is now a lowly Sanyo, the ABS brake system was ripped out (for racing, no doubt), the original AMG SLS system is probably gone and now the car has Koni's, not sure if the car still has its original 4 piston calipers, the AMG Sebring is gone, the 6.0 emblem is gone, can't quite tell if the AMG badge is still there, wonder if the 2.65 GT diff is still with the car, original AMG floor mats are gone.

I know Linda is registered for this site and sorry to pick apart the WB. However, it is still a legit Gen II WB with a 6.0 32v engine. IMHO worth about $25-30k given all that has to done to the car. But this is definitely one to do a personal PPI on! Rust and/or worn out 32v will kill any remaining value. A proper restoration with full repaint, interior work, ABS system redone, engine freshened (at least), full suspension and brake rebuild (most likely), set of staggered OZ 3 piece wheels/tires = easily $30k.

(To the owner) Linda, you should not have allowed the wheels to be parted from the car. Whoever convinced you or did this with or without your consent needs to be condemned to a brutal stoning! The wheels make the car look like a joke.

That does not do a honor to the late Kirk Salvatore nor the car itself.
