But what us the purpose of this lamp - simply warn of overheat in the exhaust system ? How would this happen ? Driving too fast on the autobahn ? -:)

Strangely I have seen the same lamp on a Germany delivered 560 - so must have done a tour in Japan as well ... Strange.

That warning lamp is indicative of a Japan car. Exhaust temp is a required warning lamp in Japan. My 1995 W124 E420 (was originally a US car) was exported to Japan and bought by a Navy MD in Japan who brought the car back to the US. This E420 had the Exhaust Temp lamp and a sender welded into the exhaust system.

That's a nice SEC, except for the blue interior. Has the trip computer some AMG mods and low miles (at least appears to be low miles). Kinda hard to do a CarFax on a Euro car that was in Japan.

Thanks
Part of the federalization process for greymarket cars imported into the US. Its pretty much an O2 oxygen sensor.

Looks like an AMG that had passed through Kyle's hands a few years back.

Very nice!
