Congratulations! With that euro motor, I would protect your investment and do the timing chain / guides / rails NOW, unless you have documentation on a recent job. Beautiful car.

I am back from Nashville TN! Did the drive in 12 hours. The car was parked for a while [light use for a year] before i took the trip but held up well.

Immediate things to fix:
1. Ball joints and tie rods - car wandered terribly, was told it was a steering box. It was a combo of 45 psi in the tires and a blown ball joint on the drivers side.
2. Sticky calipers - Drivers side front caliper was sticking creating hairy high speed braking.
3. Tune up - Most likely resistor plugs installed and incorrect wires causing a miss.

Coming from a us 560, this euro m117.963 is a beast, even with a miss. No problem cruising at 80 mph. AMG Suspension mods kept this car stable at high speed. Steering and braking was iffy due to sticky caliper and blown ball joint so could not comment on cornering

Cosmetic issues:

-The car has rust which originated at the cladding screw holes on the drivers fender and both doors. - replacement metal sourced
-The car has a delaminated rear window, no rust in package tray - replacement window sourced
-Trunk by badge holes has rust - replacement sourced
-Interior wood peeled - Need to source

The car looks mean!!!! Drove in Manhattan for a steak dinner, took potholes and dips with no issues. No scrubbing or rubbing. Perfect height.

That's one great looking W126. Very tough looking on the Penta's. Lucky guy!
When you get it home can you post up some more photos in the 126 owners gallery??

You and your cryptic replies. Do you know who nabbed it?
Cryptic? :? If anyone's cryptic.... well, lets not go there

I've invited the new current owner to join and post... it will stay on the east coast. Good plans on bringing the car up to spec again. I'm not stealing the current owner's thunder, so I will remain quiet until he joins and posts more about the plans.

Oh well, sorry to hear that. I'll continue to keep an eye out. I've seen a couple of pagoda projects pop up locally

Saw it over weekend... lots of small rust, rear window delaminating... AMG skirts, euro bumpers AMG? steering wheel. Looks like AMG springs , but hard to tell rides low and was snowing. Motor has a miss. Guy is VERY HONEST he has had for many years. Good AMG rims.

My wife loves how I work inspecting cars into every vacation... she is a trooper
