Actually I'm not any sort of expert on anything AMG, I'm first to admit.
There were 114 E500/500Es made into E60s, with 12 of those (as indicated in the advert) being the super-rare (500 produced) E500 Limited models, of which this appears to be one. The birds-eye maple and seat upholstery gives that way.
That said, one has to be VERY careful to look for the correct data-card codes (I believe they are 957 and 958) to ensure it has both Limited and E60 provenance.
There have been a number of these cars discussed in my forum's "Cars for Sale" section in recent weeks. I have quite a lot of AMG 124 fanatics on my site and they are the guys who like to debate this stuff. And believe me, they are quite picky and particular at finding the nuances with sellers' claims about cars.
My 124.036 database/registry has in-depth details on approximately 15% of all E500 Limiteds produced, which is not bad given that European cars typically don't have VIN numbers readily given out. Quite a lot of these cars seem to be JDM imports, which have to be taken with a grain of salt and scrutinized very carefully.
Here's one car discussed recently on my forum that is similar to this one E60 AMG Limited....

And another:

And yet, another:

As you can see, I am not too active in these discussions because I've not much to add. (Probably surprising for many of you who know how opinionated I am about certain things
Cheers,
Gerry
