Vehicle Description

Available now from RMC Miami is this Silver Star Certificate award winning Mercedes Benz 500SEC AMG. We proudly present this well-preserved piece of pre-merger AMG history that is equipped with more than just an appearance package.

Body lines on our W126 are straight and free of notable dings or scratches.
The AMG bodykit consists of front and rear bumper covers, side skirts, a rear spoiler and is in excellent condition with the serial numbers present (photos included in listing).
Euro market lighting is retained in excellent, original condition.
Pillarless coupe styling is timeless, and in the age of increasing safety regulations, a growingly rare breed of machine.

Power is supplied by the 5.0L M117 V8 mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Mechanically, this SEC is well sorted.

Engine provides healthy, smooth acceleration through rev range and gear shifts are so smooth they almost go unnoticed. Cruises at 80mph+ with ease.

Service performed by Schmitt Automotive Services of Bellevue, Washington included a new timing chain, camshaft gears, oiler tube bushings, fuel injectors, seals, and holders along with servicing of the 4-speed automatic transmission.
New engine and transmission mounts were installed along with a new sub pan, oil, and filter.
Equipped with 2.65 limited slip differential from AMG.
The power steering pump was resealed and the return hose was replaced.
Additionally, recent suspension work consisted of new front guide rod mounts, left rubber bushings and upper control arm, tie rods, steering gear box, and a drag link steering shock.

At the helm, this C126 feels as plush yet as precise as it would have in 1985.
Suspension is smooth over bumps with no unsuspecting clunks and power delivery is healthy. Steering is smooth, not vague from center and feels direct for a car of this size and vintage.

Inside, the cabin is trimmed in beautiful black leather with burl wood accents, both of which are in original condition.
Seats are free of tears or bolster wear and power functions operate flawlessly, including seatbelt retractors.
The dash is in excellent condition however it does have one crack closer to the left hand end.
All switches, buttons and knobs operate as designed from factory.
AMG M38 steering wheel has been equipped as part of the AMG Package and fronts an AMG instrument cluster showing 123,3xx km which translates to about 76.6k miles.
